We bought 2 pastries. One morning bun with cinnamon and an almond croissant. Worst you can have. No butter and dry, very bad quality. I guess the good reviews are from customers who donβt really know what French pastries should taste like. Donβt waste you money there

There were about 5 customers milling around waiting. The prominent red βcustomer ticket numberβ display read β51β. The ticket dispensing machine was displayed out front and I took #55 then waited as several people were served in front of me. New people arrived and seemed to be being served until I asked whether they were using the number machine and they said no, itβs just a line. I ordered a $50 cake, them suggested βif you arenβt using the number counter then perhaps you should turn it offβ and got a stone faced response. If this is your effort level, counter service may be your peak achievement.

Honestly, this was a really disappointing experience. I ordered the tres leches pastry and banana bread, and the tres leches was probably the worst Iβve had. It was super dry and had a thick layer of cream on top, but the cake itself barely felt soaked at allβdefinitely not what you expect from a tres leches. I actually came here because I saw it recommended on Reddit, but driving all the way from Fremont didnβt feel worth it. The banana bread was okay, nothing special, and I noticed after buying it that it was expiring the next day, which was a bit off-putting. Sharing the picture of banana bread. Forgot to took picture of the Tres Leches as I had to throw it!! Overall, I wouldnβt come back.

I like the baked goods at Market Hall Bakery. What I don't like is that even after asking for a senior discount, the employees say OK and turn around and don't give the discount! If they don't really want to give a senior discount, then they shouldn't offer it.

I have to comment on the princess cake because I often see this place recommended for that. I've had Princes cake from several areas around the Bay Area and Sonoma and so far this is the worst. While the cake component itself was moist and enjoyable, I'm not sure what they did to the marzapan layer but it tastes like it was made with some kind of fat, it was creamy, too sweet and not at all what you would expect if you looking for high quality marzipan. The whipped cream layers were also too sweet and creamy. The bottom layer with the raspberry layer was also very dry. Not sure what this was but it was not the classic princess cake! We also tried other two partries that were also bad. This was all very disappointing as I was expecting a real gourmet experience given how much I've heard about the foodie (I consider myself one) scene in the Rockridge area and how quaint and cool the area is. I've concluded that areas like Rockridge are somewhat isolated from competition and that the people that live in these areas are not as picky given their limited choices.

I had the passionfruit and lemon cheesecake and it was absolutely DIVINE! The flavor had a perfect balance of sweet and tart. You could actually taste the passionfruit and the lemon was subtle enough to not be overpowering. The texture was rich and creamy. It was $4.95 for a slice but the slice was very dense and filling so I found the pricing reasonable. I canβt wait to try other treats!

I'm so lucky to work nearby! Everyday I eat their morning bun or pecan pullover or oatmeal walnut scone; all a treat and reasonably priced. Lunch they have pizza by the slice, beef or chicken pot pies, sandwiches. Excellent and great selection of desserts.

Went to this bakery a couple of times while in the Bay area. They have really good cookies. Particularly the ginger cookies and almond cookies plus we also has egg bites, yum great protein, we had pizza which was very cheesy and assorted pastries, see pics. Recommend.
